What effect did the Persian Wars have on Greek cultural identity?

What will be an ideal response?

The Persian Wars paradoxically have a positive effect on forging a common Greek identity. The Greeks band together in face of the Persian threat and show genuine cooperation. Particularly of note is the cooperation shown by the Athenians and the Spartans. Leonides and 300 Spartans sacrifice themselves at Thermopylae allowing the Athenians to evacuate the city. The Athenians under the leadership of Themistocles protect the Greeks with their agile navy, driving the Persians away.
