Explain how trade associations are a source of business market information
What will be an ideal response?
Virtually every industry is represented by some type of trade association. Often, the association publishes studies of
that industry's market characteristics. The data published are useful for demographic segmentation, but can be
used for a host of other research activities as well. Some sources are free and available online. Thousands of trade
associations exist. They can be found by accessing association directories, such as the Gale Encyclopedia of
Associations, the Google Directory of Industry Associations, and the Yahoo! Business Trade Associations index.
