What will be an ideal response?
Students should include at least three of the following tips.
It is important to be sure to include information that is accurate and objective in the informative speech presentation. Speakers should make sure that the sources used are fair, relatively unbiased, and objective. Also, the information should be relatively objective and not used to persuasively.
Speakers should also make sure that the facts included are truthful and can be corroborated. Facts can be verified from multiple sources, making them objective statements. Opinions are viewpoints and cannot be verified the same way as facts can be.
Speakers should include ideas that are accessible to the audience, making sure to give ample explanations when necessary to increase understanding. Very complex and technical topics require that the speaker to adapt the information to the audiences so that the audience can understand the concepts based on the speaker's explanations.
Speakers should include visual aids that clearly and accurately describe the facts. It is important that any visual aids help to clarify the topic being discussed without distracting the audience from the focus of the presentation.
Finally, speakers should respect the ideas of the audience by avoiding language that could be considered offensive or insensitive. Speakers also should be careful to present material in a way that will not offend audience members.
