I. Hi I?m Suzie and will be discussing the effects of T.V. violence on children.
II. Someday, many of you will have children, and many of you have younger siblings, so this
topic will have a direct impact on children we know and love.
III. I really don?t know much about this topic, but I though it would be interesting to discuss.
IV. We will discuss the problems with television violence and solutions to this ever growing
problem.
What will be an ideal response?
The strong points are that she tries to relate the topic to her audience and previews the
problem and solution format. The drawbacks are that Suzie forgot to include an
attention getting device. Next, she also did not create a sense of credibility with her
third statement. Answers will vary in the rewriting of the introduction.
