Briefly discuss three major one-to-one online data collection approaches

What will be an ideal response?

Direct solicitation, customer observation, and collaborative filtering are three approaches to one-to-one online data collection. Direct solicitation may involve one-to-one communication with customers via email, conducting focus groups in chat rooms, using questionnaires on Web sites, and tracking customer movements on the Web. Customer observation can be more informative and involves transaction logs; cookies, Web bugs, and spyware; and B2C clickstream data analysis. Collaborative filtering uses customer data to predict customer interest in products and services.
