While walking down the hall on the way to lunch, a patient's family overheard two nurses discussing a patient whom they were taking care of and the following comment was made: "Mr. Jones sure is cranky today and nothing we do seems to satisfy him; I cannot wait until he leaves." What is unethical about this comment?

What will be an ideal response?

Whether a patient is having a good day or not, nursing should not be discussing this patient in the hallway and especially not using the patient's name.
