Describe and compare group task, group interaction, and
self-centered roles.
What will be an ideal response?
Task roles assist the group with the completion of certain tasks and the group
goal. Interaction roles help create and maintain a positive climate and interpersonal
relationships. Both of these are positive group roles. Self-centered roles are negative in that
they focus on individual needs, and not the needs of the group.
