Explain this procedure in layman's terms: nonmyeloablative allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplant
What will be an ideal response?
A procedure that transfuses an ill patient with the stem cells taken from the peripheral blood of a person who is not ill (the donor). Stem cells are very immature cells capable of creating more than one type of cell. Nonmyeloablative means the procedure does not require destruction of the patient's bone marrow.
