1. Use silent brainstorming. Take three minutes and list as many topics as you can think of, without evaluation. Then, go back and consider which of the possible topics look promising. 2. Scan web directories and web pages. Look under general categories to see more specific topics. 3. Listen and read for topic ideas. You can read the newspaper, listen to the nightly news, listen to friends, listen to topics in your classes.
