How might America’s military activities against Iraq in 2003 have contributed to the formation and spread of militant terrorist groups such as ISIS?

What will be an ideal response?

Students should discuss criticism over justification of the Iraq War as well as the reaction of other nations to the seemingly unilateral actions of the United States. After the removal of Saddam Hussain from power in Iraq, the military was disbanded, but former officeholders were not easily disbanded or disbursed. The result was the rise of ISIS and similar militant terrorist organizations. Even today, ISIS holds parts of Iraq and has proven to be illusive in halting on a localized and international level.
