Your 10-year-old son asks you what the Internet is and why you use it. How do you explain?

What will be an ideal response?

The Internet connects my computer with computers that more than a billion people use in this country and around the world. We can get on the Internet through a telephone line, or a cable, or a satellite, or some other kind of connection. All of us can see Web pages from all over the world, which offer interesting information to read, pictures to see and sounds to hear. I can share what I find on the Internet, that I think is interesting or helpful, with someone else I know who has a computer that is connected to the Internet.
