What is a eulogy? Name several things you should do, and one thing you should not do, in planning and presenting a eulogy

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: The eulogy is a speech of tribute in which you seek to praise someone who has recently died. These guidelines suggest appropriate steps to take in giving a eulogy: 1) Put the person’s life and contributions in a positive light; 2) Consider it a time for praise; 3) Connect the life being celebrated to your own life, the lives of the audience, and sometimes the lives of the larger audience. 4) Be specific with detailed examples, then relate them to generalities of the larger whole. 5) Portray a deserving and accomplished person. 6) Show what can be learned from this person’s life. 7) One thing you should not do is to attempt to give a balanced appraisal or critique of the person’s life.
