Some possible improvements follow. Students should be able to do as well, or better.
• To open a new customer charge account, you must use a charge account application form (Form RBK-23) that has been completed by the customer and signed by the store manager.
• Use the left arrow key when you want to move the insertion point to the left without deleting any characters.
• Use the Backspace key when you want to delete characters to the left of the insertion point. The Backspacekey is located just beneath function keys F11 and F12 and is clearly labeled.
• Check to see that there is enough paper in the printer before selecting any print option.
• If the printer runs out of paper before the end of a report, reload the printer with enough paper for the entire report and then select that print option again. The entire report then will print.
• Press the F2 key to view a list of valid merchandise codes. Press the F2 key again to return to the data entry screen.

The new instructions should be tested carefully, and the results should be documented. The best procedure would be to have a group of typical users participate in the testing to ensure that the instructions are clear, understandable, and produce the intended results.
