Describe the two-factor theory. Why is the theory deficient in measuring non-cognitive abilities?

What will be an ideal response?

Spearman's two-factor theory says that intelligence has two factors: a general mental ability factor, g, which represents what different cognitive tasks have in common, plus many specific factors, s, which include specific mental abilities (such as mathematical, mechanical, or verbal skills). Some psychologists are critical of g's narrow approach to measuring intelligence and failure to consider non-cognitive factors.
