Discuss sexual harassment in the workplace
What will be an ideal response?
It is important that the employee reports the sexual harassment immediately to his or her direct supervisor. Under the law, the supervisor has the duty of reporting and investigating the claim. Sexual harassment comes in many forms including but not limited to unwanted advances, sexually explicit language, unwanted or inappropriate touching, threats, or violence. Sexual jokes, emails, or gestures also classify as harassment. Professional medical assistants should not participate or condone this type of behavior in the workplace.
