Which bitewing exposure should the radiographer start with first?
What will be an ideal response?
Expose the premolar bitewing on one side first, followed by the molar bitewing radiograph on the same side, then repeat this order on the opposite side. Placing the premolar film packet intraorally may be more comfortable for the patient and less likely to incite a gag reflex, gaining the patient's confidence for the more difficult molar placement. Completing both the premolar and molar bitewing radiographs on one side first will avoid shifting the tube head back and forth across the patient.
