Explain the physiological reasons why systemic heat treatments are contraindicated for clients who have cardiovascular disease or disorders

What will be an ideal response?

In addition to increasing the activities of leukocytes and increasing cellular metabolic reactions, general heat applications cause other body reactions. One of them involves the heart. Heart rate increases initially, which also increases blood pressure. This is because, generally, the faster the heart beats, the more blood it pumps out, and the higher the volume of blood in blood vessels, the higher the blood pressure. Because of this phenomenon, systemic heat treatments are contraindicated for clients who have cardiovascular disease or disorders because of the risk of causing undue stress to the heart and having an adverse effect on blood pressure. In a healthy person, the heart rate, and blood pressure, will decrease through the course of a prolonged systemic heat application, having a sedating effect on the client.
