Describe NIS+.
What will be an ideal response?
NIS+ stands for Network Information Service Plus. It was designed to replace NIS and is a default naming service for the Sun Microsystems Solaris operating system. Using YP-compatibility mode, NIS+ can provide limited support to NIS clients. One important thing to note is that there is no relation between NIS+ and NIS. NIS+ was designed from scratch and the overall structure and commands of NIS+ are different from NIS.
