SMART goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based. To be specific, the goal must be well defined and clear. To be measurable, the goal must have some type of quantifiable progress. Attainable means that the goal is realistic and reachable. Relevant goals help to achieve a company's vision and mission. Time frame is the time in which the goal will be completed. SMART goals are important because it provides marketers with a tool to create effective and achievable goals for an organization.
