How is a user granted permission to access a database?
What will be an ideal response?
Other than members of the sysadmin fixed server role, a SQL Server login may not access a database directly or be granted permissions to any of the underlying database objects because a SQL Server login is a server-level principal. To access a database, the SQL Server login must first be mapped to a database user, which is a database-level security principal.
