What are gender schemas? How might one gather a comprehensive assessment of this

construct?

What will be an ideal response?

Gender schemas represent a set of expectancies that we use to apply gender-related
information to our social worlds. Gender-related preferences and attitudes, as well as
gender identity, are thought to be sub-facets of these schemata. There exist assessments
that allow researchers to assess each component, for example, Bem's Sex Role Inventory
is a valid measure of gender identity. However, the Occupations, Activities, and Traits
( Liben & Bigler, 2002 ) scales are a comprehensive assessment that measures all of the
components of gender schemata.
