A person who works in marketing needs to be able to assess the effectiveness of new online ad programs. He or she wants an information system that will not only deliver ads over the Web, but one that will also enable him or her to determine how frequently customers click on those ads. In this case, determining click ratios in near real time will be very expensive; saving the data in a batch and processing it some hours later will be much easier and cheaper.
If the user can manage with data that is a day or two old, the system will be easier and cheaper to implement.
