What does Worlds of Music mean by “gaining entry”?

What will be an ideal response?

• Gaining entry refers to the initial part of the music ethnography project when the student gains entry into the musical situation he/she has chosen to study. This initial contact is very important because it establishes contact with the experts--referred to as "consultants," e.g., musicians in this situation--who can provide students with first hand information from the "field."
