The Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) controls herbal
products and dietary supplements. It is a branch of the FDA. Herbal products and dietary
supplements are also regulated by the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994.
Herbal and dietary supplements can still be marketed without FDA approval.
