Explain the function of the following: Info panel, Align panel, Transform panel, and Color and Swatches panels.
What will be an ideal response?
The Info panel shows information based on where the pointer is on the Stage, such as the color beneath the pointer, and the size, location, and color of a selected object. You view coordinates for an object in the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes. The Info panel displays the same property and size information as the Properties panel.
You use the Align panel to size, align, or distribute multiple objects to the Stage or to each other. You can quickly resize an object to match the Stage's width, height, or both. To align objects to the Stage, click the Align/Distribute to Stage check box. Otherwise, objects will be aligned relative to each other. Options on the Align panel are also available as commands on the Modify, Align menu.
You can use the Transform panel to perform the functions of the Free Transform tool, and more. In addition to using transform options, you can use the Duplicate Selection and Transform button to copy and transform a new object in one step. For example, if your design required duplicate but slightly modified objects, you could rotate an object 25 and then click the Duplicate Selection and Transform button. The pasted object would be rotated an additional 25 from the original. If you want to undo the size transformations you've made to an object, click the Reset button at the top of the panel. To undo all transformations, click the Remove Transform button . Many options on the Transform panel are also available as commands on the Modify, Transform menu.
The Color panel contains features for adjusting an object's stroke and fill colors, many of which are also available on the Properties panel. You can select solid or gradient color, hue, brightness, and alpha (transparency) of an object. The Swatches panel contains colors from the active color palette, or set, of available colors. You can add colors to the Swatches panel, and save a palette to share with other Flash users or in a format usable by other Adobe programs, such as Photoshop and Fireworks.
