What is a circular reference? How do you know if your workbook has a circular reference?

What will be an ideal response?

A circular reference is when a single formula references itself or multiple formulas reference each other. It means that the formulas are both precedents and dependents of each other, which makes it impossible to calculate. When you open a workbook with a circular reference, Excel shows a warning dialog box as well as a message in the status bar with the words Circular Reference and the cell reference where it is located.
