The answer should describe the Freudian view of dreams as a symbolic expression of
unconscious desires and the Hobson and Pace-Schott view of dreams as resulting from brain
activation. Further, the answer should discuss the possible role of dreaming in learning. A strong
answer will provide one or two examples of studies that illustrate research in this area.
