Define secondary occlusal trauma

What will be an ideal response?

Secondary occlusal trauma occurs to teeth when forces applied to the tooth, either normal, as in chewing, or excessive, cause injury to the supporting tooth structures. A tooth with insufficient bone support cannot handle any type of force. The distinguishing feature between primary and secondary occlusal trauma is the amount of bony support surrounding the tooth.
