Discuss the relationship between employee engagement and turnover. How can a firm foster engagement?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Poor attendance, voluntary turnover, and psychological withdrawal often reflect diminished employee engagement. Employees who are not engaged in their jobs are more likely to quit. Engagement-supporting actions include making sure employees (1) understand how their departments contribute to the company's success, (2) see how their own efforts contribute to achieving the company's goals, and (3) get a sense of accomplishment from working at the firm. Employers should also hold managers responsible for employee engagement.
