Explain how the relational model uses encapsulation for security purposes
What will be an ideal response?
Encapsulation and information hiding are the hallmarks of an object-oriented approach: an entity must offer its services through a public interface but keep its inner workings private. The advantage of the relational model over its predecessors — exposing a logical view of data instead of physical one — serves object-orientation well, but is not sufficient. Data management is not merely about data organization and maintenance, but also about data security, data integrity, enforcing business rules, and providing data-related services for various applications of the information system.
