A Priority 1 checkpoint is a basic requirement for accessibility. A developer must satisfy a Priority 1 checkpoint or the page’s content will not be available to one or more groups of users. Adhering to Priority 2 checkpoints will remove significant barriers to content accessibility. Developers should address Priority 2 checkpoints because failure to do so will cause difficulties for some groups of users. To improve access to Web content a developer may address Priority 3 checkpoints.
