What will be an ideal response?

* Ego defense protects us from threats to ourselves by avoiding the possibility that statements are accurate.
* Adjustment is the process of using attitudes that maximize reinforcement and minimize punishments from the environment.
* Attitudes convey information about the kind of person one is and the values one has.
* Knowledge - Attitudes help bring order and meaning to one's world.
* Self-reports are often used to measure people's attitudes and often include Likert scales. Behavioral measures can also be used to assess attitudes.
