What are the three types of transplants?
Medical transplants are divided into three categories, depending on the tissue used. An autograft is the transplantation of a person's own tissue from one part of the body to another. This term also describes transplants between genetically identical children. A homograft is a transplant from one person to another, and the transplant of animal tissue into a human is a heterograft.
