Cultural capital refers to cultural knowledge and cultural competencies that people need for functioning effectively in society. People have less cultural capital if they do not have access to computers and the Internet. A lack of technocapital, or the skills and resources needed to use computers, is a reason why people do not have access. Thus, a lack of technocapital could mean a greater digital divide, which results in less cultural capital.
