Drawing on your knowledge of the current patterns of media use and the information in the chapter, outline your own strategy for maximizing the efficiency of political candidates' election campaigns

What will be an ideal response?

An ideal response will:
1, Explain that at the core of any campaign is media exposure.
2, Discuss how candidates can get media exposure in different ways, primarily through paid media advertising, which allows them to control the content of the message and define themselves in a positive light or their opponent in a negative light, and earned media, which is free media coverage created by the media itself.
3, Discuss a strategy that would employ both strategies, but would also take advantage of microtargeting to increase the effectiveness of paid advertising.
