During the neo-Westphalian system, many non-state actors pursue their own agendas. Give an example of this.
What will be an ideal response?
Examples will vary but should show how non-state actors have followed their own agendas. For example, in the United States, investment firms seeking to maximize their profits in real estate and real estate derivative securities minimized or hid the risks from investors. While a number of these firms made impressive profits, the resulting housing collapse of 2008 undermined the national and global credit markets, caused the Great Recession of 2008–2010, and put both the national and global economy in danger.
