Explore the roles of telomeres and the enzyme telomerase in the aging process. First define each term and then discuss its role in aging

What will be an ideal response?

Telomeres are the very ends of chromosomes in the cells. They are shorter in older
cells than in younger cells and become shorter still with each cell duplication. Once
the cell has reached its Hayflick limit of duplication, the telomere is gone, the cell
ceases to duplicate, and the creature dies. In contrast, telomerase increases the
length of telomeres; adding the enzyme telomerase to an organism could slow the
aging process.
