Explain the four general approaches a firm can take with regard to social responsibility

What will be an ideal response?

The possible approaches to social responsibility are the obstructionist stance, the defensive stance, the accommodative stance, and the proactive stance. Firms taking an obstructionist stance do as little as possible to address social or environmental problems. Firms that take a defensive approach will do all that is required legally, but nothing more. Firms that take an accommodative approach will do all that is required legally and will do more when approached with some opportunity. Firms that take a proactive stance view themselves as citizens of society. They seek out opportunities to be socially responsible.
