How would you react if your doctor asked you to fill out your medical history on a computer instead of a paper form? Do you think there are some people who would have difficulty with this? If so, give examples

What will be an ideal response?

The first part of this question is a personal response and has no right or wrong answer. The second part is useful for class discussion because some students might respond that the poor, elderly, or less educated would not be able to use a computer; however, the data does not support this assumption. Various studies on patient-entered data have shown that patients have little or no resistance to answering questions on a computer, and that age, education, and poverty are not factors. If a patient can read, he or she is likely to be willing to use the Instant Patient Medical History program.
