What is the difference between an incremental and differential backup?

What will be an ideal response?

A differential backup only backs up files that have changed since the last full backup. An incremental backup backs up any files that have changed since the last full or incremental backup. The differences between using differential or incremental backups as opposed to full backups depend on the amount of media required for these backups, such as tapes or DVDs, and the number of days of work that must be restored when a complete restore is necessary.
