Draw a Linear Communication Model and a Human Communication in Society Model and label all the components. What are the primary differences between the Linear Communication Model and the Human Communication in Society Model?

What will be an ideal response?

Refer page 12 for the Linear Communication Model and page 17 for the Human Communication in Society Model.

The primary differences are that the Linear Model assumes that communication occurs from the sender to the receiver and then the roles are switched and the receiver becomes the sender—communication follows a one way pattern from one person to another. In the Human Communication in Society Model, communication is a transactional process where individuals are simultaneously senders/receivers and meaning is created through verbal and nonverbal messages. Furthermore, the Human Communication in Society model is significantly more complex and explains that relationships, field of experience, societal and individual forces and culture influence how meaning is created and interpreted between individuals.
