Windows Vista was released in 2006 for home and business users. Microsoft's primary stated objective with Vista was to improve the security in the Windows operating system. Vista comes with built-in antispyware software, and new account profile file privileges that may keep users from installing malware. The top-end versions come with a feature called BitLocker that encrypts a computer's hard drive in the case of a lost or stolen machine. Vista comes in five versions: Ultimate, Home Premium, Home Basic, Business, and Enterprise.
