What are some of the disadvantages of PPTP in terms of security?
What will be an ideal response?
The original Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol's specification does not include mandatory encryption. Microsoft's version is enhanced by the addition of MPPE, but is still considered an insecure option because tools are available to crack its encryption. Furthermore, Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption only supports the use of keys of up to 128 bits, with 128 bits being used by default.
