Discuss strategies you could use to gather information about your audience. For your upcoming speech, which strategy do you think will be most useful?
What will be an ideal response?
The strategies for analyzing an audience are: (1 ) observation, (2 ) survey interviews, and (3 )
questionnaires. The textbook notes that observation is the easiest method and is appropriate for most
classroom speeches. If the speaker needs specific information to analyze the audience (depending on
the topic, specific purpose, etc.), other methods may be more appropriate.
