Briefly explain why it is important to research an interviewer and his or her media outlet prior to an interview
What will be an ideal response?
It is helpful to investigate the interviewer and his or her medium in order to understand the style of the journalist and media outlet. Research of this sort will let you know whether to expect difficult or embarrassing questions. In addition, you will learn if data is important to the medium and journalist or if that person prefers the information to come in the form of stories and anecdotes. At this point in your preparation, you may find that the connector requesting the interview is not right for your firm. Alternatively, you may conclude that he or she should be speaking to someone in the firm other than the person he or she requested. It is much better to determine this fact before, rather than during, the interview.
