Describe the basics of a classical conditioning experiment

What will be an ideal response?

A neutral stimulus (CS) is paired with a stimulus (UCS) that reliably elicits a response (UCR). Over trials, the CS elicits a form of the response termed the CR. The CS and UCS must be presented close enough in time so that the organism perceives them as being related.
