Why are obesity rates increasing so rapidly in today's society?
What will be an ideal response?
Obesity is a complex, multi-causal disease. Environmental, genetic, and metabolic factors influence one's likelihood of becoming obese. The percentage of obese adults and children is at a record high and is due to increasingly sedentary lifestyles, increased energy intake, an increased occurrence of dining out, medications, disease states, body-fat-distribution patterns, and genetic factors.
