Briefly define the WLAN types IBSS, BSS, and ESS

What will be an ideal response?

IBSS: Independent basic service set: This is used for temporary or adhoc connections between wireless devices without an established access point.
BSS: Basic service set. This uses a single access point (AP) in infrastructure mode, supporting mobile device connections to the AP; these are typically found in home WLANs.
ESS: Extended service set. This uses multiple APs to service device connections; these APs are bound to the same WAN connection to allow it to service more devices over a wider area, common to larger home offices or small businesses
