Peter and Kim are in the last stages of coming together in a romantic relationship. Describe the five stages of relationship growth (coming together) from their initial contact to their present state

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Sample student response:

Initiating—the initial contact where they formed quick impressions (right or wrong) of each other.

Experimenting—the stage where they explored, looked for common ground, and learned about each other.

Intensifying—in this stage, they sought intimacy, shared private information, and waited for the other to reciprocate. They spent more time together, touched more, and gave each other gifts.
Integrating—they became even more familiar with each other, started finishing each other's sentences, developed a special language, and shared inside jokes. They initiated sexual contact and provided deep disclosure.
Bonding—they entered their relationship into a public ritual by announcing a commitment or engagement, getting married or holding a commitment ceremony, having children, creating a business partnership, or sharing a living space.
