What is the difference between an operational environment and a test environment?

What will be an ideal response?

The day-to-day environment for the actual system operation is called the operational environment or production environment. It provides a secure framework for the systems programs, procedures, and data files. Its access should be limited to users and programmers, and controlled strictly because it involves the use of programs, procedures, and live data. Only if a system problem occurs should system analysts or programmers be involved in the operational environment. The test environment for the system also contains copies of all programs and procedures. Its working files, however, are test data files where changes to the operational system are verified and approved prior to conversion to the operational environment.
